Arrived in New Orleans

Hey all, so I showed up on New Orleans last night. The ride here was long and tiring (I don't know if I actually got any sleep on the trip). It was scheduled for 18 hours, but Norfolk Southern had a stalled train trying to climb a hill and had to get a helper to get out of our way. By the time that happened, another Amtrak had to pass going north. Eventually we rolled into NOLA sometime around eleven.

It was a bit chilly overnight, but right now it's a comfortable 57 degrees. I had to shed a layer and roll my sleeves up, something I'm not used to in December. I'm resting beside a bayou and about to go explore a bit more. Hopefully my feet hold up, since it feels like I might have had a hot spot I didn't know about. Found a store to pick up some new insoles and moleskin, so I'm hoping that will help things along. Maybe I need some breathable boots, but I like water resistance, so there's tradeoffs to everything.
