Goodbye Louisiana

Well, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything. I ended up working at the hostel I mentioned in my last post for over four months. It wasn't too bad, a decent place to stay but I didn't feel it was a great use of my time with so much of the country left to explore. I made some good friends, learned a lot, talked to new people from around the world and spent a lot of time wandering around the French Quarter in New Orleans. The bar with laundry I mentioned in my last post ended up being one of my favorite hangouts... I'm going to miss the smoked queso crawfish fries and probably even the Lan-yap video poker machine.

After I left the hostel last week, I spent a few days wandering around the area, found a few spots to camp in for a night or two and got a few new train videos for YouTube, so it was pretty cool overall. Earlier this week, I caught a bus to Lafayette, LA for a few nights but now I'm on a bus to Houston, already across the border and out of Louisiana. I never originally set out to visit Texas, but that's where I am, so we'll see what happens from here.
